We have been in operation since 1984 and have taken time to refine and polish our program so that it can be meet the needs of your child.

Our Philosophy

It is the philosophy of St. Mark Christian Preschool that early childhood education should be a time of fun, security, warmth, exploring and discovery. The school’s purpose is to provide an atmosphere that encourages spiritual, social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth. Thus enhancing the development of the child. St. Mark Christian Preschool’s curriculum includes learning about and singing praise to God, sharing conversation time, stories, dramatic play, art and games. The teacher’s provide activities using large and fine motor skills. Activities include science and nature study, exposure to numbers, colors, letters, sounds and the celebrations of holidays and birthdays.

Our Program

Spiritual Development

The faith experience is not merely a spectator or listening activity. It requires age-appropriate learning through all the senses and through personal involvement. Young children learn about God’s Love through actions of others, by experiences and interactions. We believe the reinforcement of spiritual development should become a family centered experience.

Self-Image

What a child thinks of him/herself helps to determine what kind of person they will grow to be. It affects how they will meet challenges and how they will respond to situations and people. Believing we are loved and accepted by God and those people who mean the most to us, helps build a strong, healthy self-image. people. Self-Direction

We encourage a self-directed child to confront a new problem, analyze it, and work towards a beneficial solution. With guidance, children learn how to plan and to carry out plans, to seek help as needed, and to judge the results of their actions. All this helps them o grow toward self-direction.

Self-Development

This is the unique expression of the personality - what a person is, knows, thinks, and feels in their own way. It is individual and creative. A young child’s self-expression takes place in many forms - art, body movement, play, construction, music, and language.

Social Interactive Skills

Young children can learn to organize and assimilate the reality of the world and people around them through interactive play. In an atmosphere of Christian love, they can learn to take turns, share, and respect each other. Our children are given an opportunity to learn skills in a highly creative way. Through age-appropriate learning, we hope to impart these skills.

Language Development

The children are given the opportunity to learn language skills in a very spontaneous and creative way. Through puppets, songs, and games, they learn language by using listening and imitative skills. These skills are essential components of reading readiness.
